Alfa Alfa Seeds
Alfalfa, also known as Medicago sativa, has been used for its medicinal properties for hundreds of years. The word “alfalfa” comes from the Arabic phrase, al-fac-facah, meaning “father of all foods.” Alfalfa is one of nature's richest sources of nutrients, it is high in chlorophyll and is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, trace minerals, enzymes and all the known vitamins, including A, C, E, and K4. It is also a rich source of protein, choline, inositol and PABA. Alfalfa is high in fibre and aids digestion and weight reduction. The high calcium intake also offers protection against fat accumulation. It has been used as a naturopathic treatment for high cholesterol, diabetes, jaundice and kidney complaints, anaemia and rheumatism. Alfalfa, being highly alkaline, helps control uric acid build-up around the joints. Alfalfa also works as a detoxifier, infection fighter and cleanser, and is particularly noted for its diuretic effect. Please note – due to the high level of Vitamin K contained in Alfalfa, this product may not be suitable for people who are taking blood thinning medication such as aspirin.
