Protect Yourself During the Flu Season!
Winter is almost over but the flu season does not seem to leave us alone! As we know, prevention is better than cure, in this short blog-post, we’ll cover eight easy, doable preventive measures to avoid getting the bug.
1. Washing hands
Wash your hands with soap and running water before and after eating, cooking, using the toilet and after coming back home. Be thorough with the washing; don’t forget to lather up the back of your hand and under your fingernails. Of course, if required, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer as per the instructions.

2. Good respiratory hygiene
Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing with a tissue or flexed elbow. Preferably use disposable tissue and napkins and discard them correctly.

3. Personal hygiene
In addition to the abovementioned points, consider wearing clean clothes; avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth; and keeping your home well-ventilated.
4. Contact with ill individuals
Avoid close contact with sick people and maintain good personal hygiene if you come across sick people.
5. If you already feel sick
Avoid close contact with others if you’re feeling under the weather, do not spit in public, and maintain personal hygiene. In addition, increase your fluid intake, stay warm, and take rest. Please seek medical help if your symptoms become worse.
6. Food safety
Eat freshly prepared meals and avoid raw foods. In case of animal-products, ensure that you only consume well-cooked food. Eat a balanced diet to maintain good immunity.

7. Fluids
Drink plenty of water and other fluids, such as juices and soups. Check out healthy and delicious recipes mentioned on this website.
8. Exercise
Exercise regularly to boost immunity and stay fit. However, if you’re already feeling unwell, avoid strenuous activities and take ample rest.
