Prana murda meaning:
The prana mudra is the most important and beneficial out of all hasta mudras. Among all the mudras this mudra holds the utmost importance. Prana in Sanskrit means “Life Force”.The breath we take is itself a form of prana. It is energy in the universe which constantly flows in and around of the body. The word Pranayama is derived from the Sanskrit word prana and ayama which means expansion of life force. The practice of this mudra fills the body with new life force thereby removing the inactiveness of body. It is believed that practising this mudra daily regulates the root chakra and activates the flow of life force and also helps in increasing the immunity.
How to do it :
This Prana Mudra has to be practiced by both the hands
sit on the floor in Padmasana
join the tip of the Ring and small finger together with the tip of the thumb
close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing pattern
once you become aware of your breathing imagine the life force entering your body through your breath and energizing every part of the body through the pure life force
It can be practised 30 – 45 mins at a stretch or by taking 15 mins interval in between
As there is no such restriction on when and how much to do but Its best practised early morning and on an empty stomach
