Vedic astrology is an ancient science consisting of a vast knowledge of the planet and how it affects humans animals plants and even the planet earth, Vedic astrology also known as jyotisha which in Sanskrit means Jyotish (light). Vedanga jyotisha is the earliest Indian text on astronomy which tells us about how the planets in sky emit their energy here on us and how it affects our biological and mental constitution as we all know every planet radiates their own energy and this energy when in imbalance creates disharmony in our body and also on our mind.
Our ancient scholars came to know about this science and its law of nature and how it affects mankind and created a system called Ayurveda which means medicine of life. Ayurveda works on the principle of three doshas namely
whenever there is an imbalance in this doshas it creates illness in our body this imbalance has a direct correlation with planets upon us in the sky the energy they emit in the form of radiation which creates these doshas.
There are on total 9 planets in Vedic astrology which are divided into three sets of each representing one dosha
whenever there is an imbalance of the dosha due to these planets it affects our mind and body resulting in ill health abnormal behaviour and various other aspects of life so to harmonize these effects in Vedic astrology a birth chart is made which can be used to know about good or ill health major disease or accidents mental instability and also the behavioural pattern of the native after preparing the chart we can look into those imbalances created by planets and correct it by various remedied such as dietary changes, lifestyle changes colour therapy, gem therapy and by practising meditation and chanting mantras.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a connection between astrology and wellness practices?
Astrology does not have scientific evidence as a health diagnostic tool. However, Vedic astrology and Ayurveda share historical roots and sometimes recommend lifestyle, dietary, and herbal practices aligned with one's constitution. These recommendations often have independent merit - the value is in the prescription itself, not the astrological basis.
How does holistic health differ from conventional medicine?
Holistic health considers the whole person - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions - rather than treating isolated symptoms. It emphasises prevention, lifestyle, diet, stress management, and mind-body connection. Evidence-based integrative medicine combines holistic approaches with clinical diagnostics for the most complete care.
Can planetary or lunar cycles affect human biology?
The moon's gravitational pull affects ocean tides, but evidence for direct biological effects on human health is weak. Some studies suggest subtle correlations between lunar phases and sleep quality (due to light exposure changes) and menstrual cycle timing. These effects are real but modest and do not validate predictive astrology.
What role does spirituality play in physical health outcomes?
Extensive research shows that spiritual practices - prayer, meditation, community worship, and a sense of meaning and purpose - reduce stress hormones, lower blood pressure, improve immune function, and increase longevity. These benefits come from psychological and behavioural mechanisms, not supernatural intervention.
How can I incorporate wellness rituals into daily life without superstition?
Use wellness rituals for their demonstrable benefits: morning sun exposure for vitamin D and circadian rhythm, mindfulness meditation for cortisol reduction, yoga for flexibility and nervous system regulation, and seasonal eating for optimal nutrition. The structure and intention of a ritual are valuable regardless of its origin.
